My hypochondria is flaring up today, so I'm spending new years day in a walk-in centre.

I have taken the cards down and will do the tree later, another one over.

What new and exciting things await in 2019 I wonder

We’ve just been into the centre of Cambridge, most of the shops were closed, as were the Lion’s Yard and Grafton shopping centres. It was rather odd seeing the city so empty.

I hope the Prof wasn't rude to you TVC. Perhaps I put a little too much gin in her G&T last night........

Here's a <hug> Joan.....I hope all is OK.

(Mind you I'm a bit sweaty at the mo having just come back from a nice 14 mile walk along the Pennine Way.....so you might want to keep your distance from me)

Earlier today we caught a bit of a programme, 100 British Walks or something, they were at Mam Tor which we have walked and thoroughly enjoyed. I did think it would be lovely to retire to somewhere like The Peak District so we could take stunning walks every day, thing is we would soon get bored if there was not much else to do.

I walked up Mam Tor the other day, from Losehill and the ridge, down to Peverill Castle then back to Hope. A fabulous walk, but so windy that I had to hang on to the trig point to stop being blown over.

Unfortunately it is a bit of a drive for us to get to the Peaks and these past couple of years have been really busy so we haven't been anywhere near for a while.

Hi All! Back to the social meedja after a deliberately enforced break over the Christmas break.

The Castleton area is indeed lovely, I did the Great Ridge walk a few years back... half killed me.

^ The mountain biking in that area is outstanding. I did a route from Hope over to Ladybower and Win Hill a couple of years back. -5 degrees at the top, I came off on the ice and smacked my shin on a rock. It turns out that a constant supply of icy water jetted from the front wheel is just the ticket for taking swelling down.

Anyway, walking the rocky descent along Cavedale last week reminded me to get back up there with my bike and do some more exploring.

Cheeky! I have to transfer them from the camera to the iPad but I've been busy catching up on work stuff...

It was just because your phrasing took me back to the days of post slide film, or queuing at the chemist.
