Meanwhile...
Re: Meanwhile...
I have long thought that Joss Naylor was (is) one of greatest ever athletes and Jasmin seems to be cut from the same cloth. It is not just the physical achievement (mind blowing though these long distance events are) but the culture of fellrunning - the self sufficiency, the carrying on through day and night, the coping with all weathers, and the self effacing nature they seem to have. Shades of Steve Abraham as well.

Re: Meanwhile...
Eugeni Sole, who was coming second, withdrew with 3 miles to go last night. He had to be helped off the course. 265 miles down and then he doesn’t finish. Poor guy. Just shows what a stunning athlete Jasmin is. Apparently she’s being interviewed at 8.30am on 5 Live.
Agree 100% with you @JohnToo about Joss Naylor and Steve Abrahams. These people are a special breed but have very little public profile.

Re: Meanwhile...
I went to see 'Stan & Ollie' today - it's very sentimentalised, and it reminded me that I can't abide their 'routines' (although I do remember finding them funny when I was about 7; that thing with the piano). Today there were adults in the cinema guffawing at them though, even though it wasn't actually them. Steve Coogan was very impressive as Stan Laurel.

IT made some changes to my laptop yesterday because of a potential security flaw...
...and ended up disabling my wireless adaptor. Which means I can’t connect to my home network (as its wireless). I’m going to have to go to the local hospital, connect with a wire and get IT to fix it.
Then I might actually be able to get some work done.

Bad news: I’ve received a manufacturer’s recall notice for my car...
Good news: we’re going to France for the weekend...

I believe fight club was accurate on this fact: manufacturers only issue recall notices if they calculate the cost of the recall is less than the cost of law suits if they ignored the issue.
